The Professional Squash Association (PSA) have signed a partnership with Chicago-based retailer Squash Pro Shop, Inc which will see them become the PSA’s Official North American Retailer.
As part of the agreement, Squash Pro Shop will also be the Official Retailer of the sport’s first $1 million tournament – the 2018/19 PSA World Championships presented by the Walter Family – which takes place this year at Chicago’s Union Station between February 23 and March 2.
“We are delighted to sign this partnership with Squash Pro Shop and believe that this will help to further establish the PSA in North America,” said PSA Chief Commercial Officer Tommy Berden.
“With the World Championships taking place in Chicago five times in the next decade, we were looking for a local retail partner with continental reach and Squash Pro Shop fitted the bill perfectly. We are looking forward to working with them to enhance the event experience at the sport’s premier tournament next month and increasing the profile of the PSA and our brand partners – such as Dunlop and Salming – amongst a larger audience in North America.”
Squash Pro Shop Founder and Chief Executive, Anil Gidwaney, said: “We are pleased to sign this agreement with the PSA. There will be many branding and marketing opportunities in this agreement to make Squash Pro Shop a more global brand. The agreement with the PSA and our recent acquisition of online squash retailer Hutkay.fit will help grow our business in the US and the rest of the world. We will also have a booth to sell equipment at the 2018/2019 PSA World Championships.”
